Here’s your chance to give back and make a difference.
Join COR’s volunteer force and help us give back to our community. We are always offering new ways for you to volunteer your time, talent and treasure, so check back often to find a cause you care about.
In 2015, COR began hosting four Keep-the-Midlands-Beautiful Service Days, a Columbia based Adopt-a-Highway program. We believe it’s important to give back to the community that provides our organization and its members so much, so let’s help it maintain the infrastructure which provides us the ability to actually get out there and experience our city. By adopting one of the main thoroughfares (Gervais Street in between Harden and Assembly) in Columbia, COR is able to help beautify a very visible part of the city and let its citizens know what we’re all about.
What’s Next Midlands? is an online idea hub that inspires community action. We’ve partnered with the team at EngenuitySC to be their army of volunteers helping raise awareness about the project and get people involved in the movement to build a better Columbia for everyone. From spreading the word at community events like Soda City and First Thursday to helping implement the individual projects resulting from the idea hub, COR is proud to a part of the movement that’s moving the Midlands forward.
COR promotes volunteer opportunities upon request of nonprofit organizations. Each opportunity is posted on COR’s blog, social channels, The Buzz, and in our monthly newsletter. In addition to promoting opportunities, COR partners with organizations to fulfill volunteer needs for events such as Special Olympics Summer Games at Fort Jackson, EngenuitySC’s Ignite, Famously Hot New Year, Jam Room Festival and the USC/Technology Incubator’s Start Up Weekend.
Do you need volunteers? If you’re a nonprofit or supporting a good cause, let us know and we’ll see how we can help.
