Nov. 3, 2016 (COLUMBIA, S.C.) – Crafty Feast, the Midlands’ largest indie craft fair, announces the list of nearly 100 makers of handcrafted and repurposed goods – from across the Southeast and beyond – who will join the eighth annual indie craft fair on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, 12-6 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Known for funky, one-of-a-kind offerings to check off the holiday shopping list, Crafty Feast will host the jury-vetted merchants and nearly 2,700 attendees for a one-day-only market in the center of downtown Columbia, S.C., adjacent to the Congaree Vista district.
In addition to strolling down aisles of unique vendors (made easily navigable with handheld maps), guests will enjoy snacks; local, craft and domestic beer; wine and mimosas for purchase.
Admission to Crafty Feast is $3 for adults; free for kids 10 and under.
For its eighth annual fair, Crafty Feast slightly reduced the amount of vendors to maintain quality of goods and experience; and increase comfort for both attendees and merchants.
Of the 95 makers, 32 are new to Crafty Feast for 2016. 77 are from outside of Columbia, and 35 are from outside of S.C. – coming from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina.
Lesley Eaton, the artist behind Peppered Paper, is joining Crafty Feast for the first time from Knoxville, Tenn. Peppered Paper sells artwork made exclusively from cut and strategically layered paper.
“I am very excited to be joining all the other vendors at Crafty Feast,” says Eaton. “I heard about it from another vendor, and she said it’s the best show she’s ever done. So that’s why I checked it out and applied.”
Eaton meticulously curates, cuts, arranges, and glues papers to make collage works. “I’m inspired by taking bits of ‘scattered items’ and crafting something beautiful with them,” notes Eaton. “I have a new Peppered Paper kit that I’m thrilled to debut at Crafty Feast.”
Other new vendors include Bone and Ink, which creates pen and ink drawings that capture the essence of antique tin-type photographs out of Pendleton, S.C.; Supermassive, an apparel company from North Charleston, S.C.; ceramic scg from Charleston, S.C. and Carolina Soap Works out of Newberry, S.C.
Returning vendors include Brixtix Bakery, a pet treat and outfitter brand from Hampton, G.A.; Field Botanicals, which makes vegan botanical beauty products in small batches from sustainable, harvested plants in Augusta, S.C.; Smarty Pants Paper Co. from Knoxville, T.N., and January Jewelry from Irmo, S.C.
