Ashes of Old Ways To Play Five Points After Five

May 16, 2016

Ashes
Ashes of Old Ways plays the Five Points After Five Concert Series on Thursday, May 26th.  The show starts at 6:30pm and is free to attend.  Charleston, SC band The High Divers opens the show.

After a string of successful Southeastern show with Jordan Igoe and Danielle Howle that included stops in Charleston, SC, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN and very well attended performance in Greenville, SC, the band is currently in the studio working on a new album at the Charleston, SC studio Return to Zero.  The album is expected to be released in the fall of 2016.

Ashes of Old Ways is a collaborative musical venture featuring singer/songwriters Dave Britt of Columbia, S. C. and Bobby Sutton of Charleston, S.C., along with Jamie Crisp and Baldwin Bonilla. The band just returned from the “SC to TN Showcase” tour of Greenville, S.C., Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN, with Danielle Howle and Jordan Igoe and others. After several successful shows in Nashville, Britt expanded the SC to TN Showcase with dates in Atlanta and Greenville. Britt documented the successful showcases in an online video documentary, “SC to TN Road Diary.”

Their new single “Living in the Present Tense,” is getting airplay and great reviews. From The Free Times in Columbia, S.C., “The first single from Ashes of Old Ways, finds easy compromise between its stalwart local collaborators. Drifting with crunchy guitars and piercing organ and pedal steel, it revels in both the unassuming pop-rock hypnotism of Dave Britt’s recent offerings and the rustic sincerity of Bobby Sutton’s Rival Brothers.”
