Pawmetto Lifeline’s Bark to the Park

March 31, 2016

WHAT: Pawmetto Lifeline’s 8th Annual Bark to the Park, Walk for the Animals, presented by McDaniels Subaru, will be Saturday, April 9th. This event is one of Pawmetto Lifeline’s largest fundraising efforts. Bark to the Park Walk for the Animals is a fun-filled, family event that helps save homeless pets across the Midlands. People and their pets are invited to participate in a one-mile fun walk, and those who cannot participate in the walk can still support Pawmetto Lifeline’s life-saving programs by signing up as virtual walkers. After the walk, participants can enjoy an after-party celebration with refreshments, face painting, animal contests, balloon animals, and an awards ceremony for the top fundraisers.

Participants are encouraged to form teams and collect donations from now until the walk. Those who reach particular fundraising levels win prizes such as t-shirts, leashes and more. An exciting new prize this year is a Yeti Tundra 50 cooler. Each individual that raises $2,500 or more will receive a Yeti Tundra 50 cooler.

This year, Pawmetto Lifeline’s animals that have yet to be adopted are getting in on the fun! Lio, a 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog, will be representing the Dog Team, and Little Mama, a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat will be representing the Cat Team. We are asking the public to help us choose the winner by either joining or donating to Pawmetto Lifeline’s Dog Team or Pawmetto Lifeline’s Cat Team. The winning team will be announced at the after party following the walk with the winner having a special kennel named after them at the Meyer Finlay Adoption Center.

For complete details and to register for the event, visit www.barktothepark.com.

WHEN: Bark to the Park will be Saturday, April 9th. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the 1.5 mile fun walk starts at 10:30 a.m. The after party begins at approximately 11 a.m.

WHERE: Bark to the Park Walk for the Animals will be at Finlay Park in downtown Columbia, SC. Parking is available in metered spaces around the park or in the parking garage at the corner of Taylor and Assembly streets.

About Pawmetto Lifeline

Pawmetto Lifeline is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit animal rescue organization with a plan to end pet overpopulation in the Midlands through education, legislation, spay/neuter programs, and responsible pet adoptions. Pawmetto Lifeline’s long-term goal is to transform the Midlands into a no-kill community, meaning no healthy adoptable pet is euthanized simply because it is homeless. For more information, please visit www.pawmettolifeline.org.
